I thought they would be good for air drying my hair but they are clearly not designed for that. After watching a few tutorials on YouTube, I realized that they should be used primarily on dry hair. They really do not twist, but give volume and shape. So you dry your hair about 90 percent, then put on curlers and let it dry completely. The clamps are too small and cheap, so they were a bit difficult to use. I used my large styling clips which worked great but I would probably go with the ones that don't require clips if I had to order again. The result is good, but with my hair type I still had fluff that needed ironing.
