I have purchased and used several ceramic drip coffee makers with varying degrees of success. My favorite is the Humbree, which I also got from Revain, which I leave in the office. When I needed a new dripper for my home I wanted to buy it again but I just searched and came across this LHS model and the reviews were good! The price was great so I decided to give it a try. I AM SO HAPPY I MADE IT! It actually works better than any ceramic dripper I've tried! A cup of delicious coffee drips as fast as ceramic drippers. I wet the ground coffee with hot water and let it soak for maybe 10-20 seconds, then I pour a steady stream of hot water over the ground coffee and the coffee INSTANTLY drips and absorbs all the beneficial properties of the ground coffee. Process and leaves me a FULL cup of HOT COFFEE! The problem I've always had with ceramics is using a paper filter. The paper filters empty so slowly that it takes me up to 2 minutes to brew a full cup, by which time the coffee has lost most of its heat. The coffee is delicious, but I have to drink it immediately or it will get cold. Thanks to this metal filtration process, the coffee arrives immediately and is therefore just as hot, which means I can drink it in my free time :) Seriously, the best! I grind for drips so it's not super fine and it's not super coarse. I would suspect that the fine soil might be clogged like a paper filter, but I haven't tried to confirm this. Either way, THIS is the Dripper you need to get if you're looking!
