Combination too easy to change

Ordered this 4 digit master lock (643D) to replace a rusted 3 digit lock that has served me well for several years. I ignored and couldn't understand many of the reviews that said the 643D had an issue with the combination changing unintentionally, as this was never an issue on the smaller 3-digit version. When she arrived I checked the lock. Building the combo was easy. The movement and materials are decent. However, 2 things bother me: 1. When setting the combination, you don't have to press the bracket! This differs from my previous 3 digit lock which was spring loaded (you had to physically hold the shackle to set the combination. On the 643D the shackle just falls with no effort and stays there. This allows the combination tumblers to turn without much of this is closed prone to accidentally changing the combination without the user's knowledge (on a smaller 3 digit lock it's almost impossible to change the combination as you have to use reasonable force to keep it pressed when changing the digits) 2 β€’ the Shackle is inserted no more than 2mm into the lock body. I have never seen a lock with such a flimsy locking mechanism and I suspect anyone with a screwdriver would use little force to pick the lock. I need a lock that others can use. This is a problem waiting to be solved and it will keep coming back.
