I use a normal washing program and a drying program without heat and the product cleans well. The only thing it doesn't do well in this cleaning mode is mugs with coffee and tea stains, but I don't mind washing them by hand. However, the box should be kept away from any source of moisture. The box is meant to be kept really dry, and apparently under the sink - no leaks or drips - not dry enough. I had no problems with the first box I bought, but the second I had to throw away about a third. It hardened into a strong brick that would not yield to any tool, including a cleaver. I'll buy it again (but in store to make sure it's still in powder form) and repackage it immediately and maybe use some desiccant. Five stars for composition and eco-friendliness, four for cleaning, two for packaging.
