Review on PRYSM Bake Element Replacement for WB44T10010 by Brian West

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works well, installation tips here

Turn off the power to the oven as the element is powered even when the oven is off. If you can't just turn off the oven, turn off the switch. Make sure the front panel display is off before proceeding. Be careful not to slide the element wires back into the furnace after cutting. If this is the case you will have to remove the stove from the wall and open the panel on the back to make the connections to the new element. This happened to me on a previous replacement. It definitely helps to remove the oven door to get closer to a non-difficult task. My GE oven has clips that pivot down to hold the inner hinges open against spring tension when the door is open. You can then simply remove the oven door and put it aside. The wire on the right element is longer than mine and less likely to be pulled in, so I unplugged it first, pulled it all the way out, and dangled it. The left wire is actually two wires crimped to the same connector, it is shorter and stiffer and more at risk of being pulled. This is the one I lost on the previous exchange. This time I had it in my fingers after unplugging it and someone gave me a new item so I could plug it in without letting go of the cord and it worked fine.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • The list will be long.
