I just installed this on a sturdy faucet and I'm already impressed! The water in the house is supplied by the plumbing system, but there was always iron in the barn water. The iron has deteriorated when the house's hydraulic accumulator was replaced, to the point where the water is cloudy brown with floating sediment! If the water supply came out and tested the water they would say the water in the stable is good for horses but if we want to get all the iron out we need to replace/upgrade the system in the stable house for $2600. . It is also said that this sometimes happens when replacing the pressure vessel, it may or may not settle after a few months. So I went and put one of these little filters on the spigot, I think for $15 it was worth it. Of course, this probably won't remove all the iron, but at least the water is clear now and there aren't any bits of sediment floating around! I had my husband taste the water after I put the filter on (LOL) he said it still had a metallic taste. But come on, I feel better that at least my horses are drinking clean water now that doesn't have as much iron in it. I am attaching before and after photos.
