This product is not meant for support but for the sense of some protection and range of motion. I have had surgery on my ruptured patellar and this seemed to be a good product to start with. I ordered the large and it is comfortable and provide some sense of protection but with the material it is made from will not provide support. However, I wear it on a daily basis and it has subsided some of my constant pain. This is not a product that will stabilize and support for extensive workouts or sports requiring jumping, running and quick movements. This is a great product for some compression and keeping joints warm with some stability.
