I wouldn't use my bike rack without this product. Without these silicone protectors, my car would have been badly scratched. When I first got them I tested them on the side of the car and they stuck to the car like a magnet. Pretty cool. That's why I knew they would hold the brackets in place so well. The protectors also help the clips on the side clips fit snugly into the machine, which is what made me the most nervous. With these protectors I feel more comfortable in my car, as well as the safety of the bike rack in general. They hold everything in place very well and I'm not worried about movement. It's worth the money and would buy it again if I ever needed it.
