These mechanical timers are ideal for tracking the elapsed time of almost anything within an hour.

I bought two of these, one I use for a BBQ and one I use at a hobby shop to measure chemical reaction times in PCB manufacturing. Setting a timer while grilling allows me to chat with friends and family while the food cooks; in my hobby shop it allows me to focus on other projects or tasks while the chemical reaction is in progress; for example electroplating and etching of printed circuit boards. The alarm tone is loud enough to be heard up to 50 feet away due to typical party noises, and in the store I hear it through air compressors and other power tools. I recommend them for use by the family cook and hobbyist.
