I bought two of these, one I use for a BBQ and one I use at a hobby shop to measure chemical reaction times in PCB manufacturing. Setting a timer while grilling allows me to chat with friends and family while the food cooks; in my hobby shop it allows me to focus on other projects or tasks while the chemical reaction is in progress; for example electroplating and etching of printed circuit boards. The alarm tone is loud enough to be heard up to 50 feet away due to typical party noises, and in…

No batteries required - no need for frequent changes

This mechanical ring timer is simple and a good size - it doesn't require batteries as you can simply wind it up to the time you want. It's made of durable plastic and you can easily place it on your kitchen counter or anywhere you want to use it. The numbers are large enough to be clearly visible when you wind them up. Make sure you wind it up 55 times, then reset it to the minutes you want (5, 10, 15, etc.). This seems to factory reset it and ring when the time is up. The call is loud enough…

  • Got it!

ABSOLUTE CHARACTER for thermometers and timers

It says 'Made in China'. I bought it anyway because I thought they had improved since then. NOT CORRECT! WRONG and WRONG again! This is complete junk! I bought two and the first one broke after a few weeks, the second worked fine until the end of autumn 2015. After releasing it in late May 2016, I started to wonder if it really works. Now I've tested it in many ways and I can say with confidence that the spring mechanism doesn't work; and no matter what I do, it stops counting after a few…

FIXED CALL! Lasts 1 minute and you'll love this alarm when it's set!

FIXED RING! I set the timer a couple of times and the time clicked fine but didn't ping. So I decided it was time to break up. I rotated it RIGHT past 60 as instructed to activate the alarm mechanism, THEN rotated it LEFT past "0" to about 58 (did this 3 times in a row). It seemed to me that there was a burr on the alarm mechanism that hadn't been smoothed out. Then I set a timer for 5 minutes. When the bell rang, IT HAPPENED! I've used it several times and every time it rings as it should. Now

Works great but need to take a step further reading instructions

Bought for a friend who is hard of hearing and can't hear her stove timer. I set it to 5 minutes and we heard a little "ringing". God, I thought, but she wisely sat down and read the instructions. It seems you need to rotate it, then rotate it counterclockwise and you will get a big ringtone. Not like the old big metalheads that we humans of a certain age remember, but enough for her to hear when they're around. Sits well without bothering to stay upright like some of the thinner ones, but it's
