Chain snaps into place very easily
We bought this because we have a 3 year old who loves opening the door and walking around on his own. This prevented him from escaping as he was unable to reach him. As a security measure, however, this is rather useless. Unless Grandma ambushed you, anyone with some strength can break through this chain simply by pushing open the door. After two months of use, I accidentally broke it while leaning against a door. I'm a big guy at 200 pounds, but most of the weight is on my legs, I just lean and don't push. Those who really want to get into your house will not be stopped by this weak chain.
