I've already ordered two of these and I love them. I installed the first on one of my cars and the next on my mother's car. It's worth noting that when I installed one on my machine, I accidentally plugged it in the wrong way round. I don't mean positive/negative polarity, but there is one side that clearly says "IN" and the other side says "OUT". It was dark when I put it on my car and turned it back to front. It still worked, but a little differently than when I put it "right" in my mom's car. Let me explain a little more. When plugged back in, the light will still flash at the same frequency, but the light will go out completely between flashes. If the lights are connected as marked and not flashing at full intensity, they will switch to half brightness and remain dim (but still on) between full light flashes. I personally prefer the reverse effect as it is more attractive. The effect appears a bit more subtle when connected as instructed. For reference, I've installed them on almost identical cars that have an LED strip for the third brake light. Results may vary when connecting to traditional glow stop lights. I can't tell you all about how this type of light works as all my third brake lights are LEDs and the one I put on my neighbor's truck is the one I've already replaced with LEDs. All in all, this is a really smart, inexpensive, and easy modification to your car that I believe will greatly reduce your chances of getting your ass kicked. This is not an issue and I have spoken to local law enforcement to ensure this is a legal change. If school buses use a device like this to protect children, why not in your car?*** A quick note: When I work with electrical systems, I prefer to solder the wires directly to each other, with a few exceptions. instead of using crimp connectors. It's just my pet trouble. Of course, connectors are simpler and preferable for some applications, but I'll stick with it. After soldering, I coat the bare spot with "liquid insulating tape". These are some of the greatest things on earth. Do it once and do it right, I always say. :-)
