Ok great pump 1hp sucks out my whole big sewer hole in 5 seconds my old 1/3hp pump. was from a big shop, 10 years worth, I have 2 of these pumps, both are over 10 years old, they work like masters, but due to the recent flooding in my area we wanted more power, got it this way. I will be buying another one for my second hole in a month if this Wayne holds up well. Here's my issue with this unit, the metal rod holding the float looks flimsy as other reviewers have noted, also Wayne's manual suggests replacing the float switch every 2 years, never had to do this on my other standard submersible pumps. The vertical switch in this unit is great but I have a feeling I will be replacing the float and switch within 5 years at most. Instructions for this are available online, the float is $35 on Amazon, the switch is $20 So no big deal, I ordered this device knowing all that from the reviews. Guess I'm spoiled to have 3 regular sump pumps, 1 lasted 7 years, 2 others 10 years and still working so I believe a Wayne motor can last 10 years but maintaining floats and switches sucks , but any vertical float switch can fail for as long as the old one floats, idk. At least the Wayne device allows you to swap out the float and change it more easily. then your standard pump. This pump is great, but I will trust this device for a long time, I will update it over time. My sump pit is big so a regular float will work for me, but none will. are available with good reviews at this high output so am trying a vertical model and hoping for the best if I order a second pump I will order a float assembly and change. I think of 2 of these units I will be changing one or the other within 5 years or less so I have 2 of my old drain pumps on hand just in case. , and keep parts in stock instead of waiting to order when needed. We will see that all research on the internet shows that Wayne pumps are among the highest and cheapest compared to Zoeller pumps, at 3 times the price 1 HP Wayne pump Time will tell if you like the pump, you just not sure if it will last 5 years without a float or switch replacement and the 5 year warranty after reading the manual makes it sound like it would be harder to fix the unit when needed. but that's just my intuition. I don't use PVC tubing, I never used it, I use black tubing to be flexible when needed and to make it easy to swap out the pump when needed. I bought a check valve but didn't use it, it's made for PVC pipe, not the black flexible hose I use, no big deal, love that the water flushes back out and helps remove dirt , which could try to plug the device. Also, I use a heavy-duty 3-prong extension cord, although the manual doesn't say it's too long, the cord is only about 7 feet long. I've used it on my other drain pumps for a lot less so Wayne has to put up with it. and runs so far so well with a heavy extension cord, I can see the next flood better when the device has been running continuously for about 30 minutes. So I'm saying this Wayne device can't beat it for the price but should be prepared to change the float or switch if necessary. Unless you just buy a new one, it's a lot cheaper to swap out the parts. I only wish Wayne had more confidence in his product so it could be me, 5 stars until I see no reason to change it and gave Wayne the benefit of the doubt as to how much I checked the bolts on the block.. .to make sure they were tight was everything. Seems heavy, but not too heavy, I don't care if the hull has a little rust, I'm sure it will only be surface rust, which will not affect the functioning of the units. everything went underground in the yard, so every flood spilled into my house, now the water comes more during floods, but much slower, so in my opinion 2 sump pumps during a strong flood like last year, 18 inches of water in my basement, $1200 to fix my stove, lucky my hot water tank survived, this 80 gallon monster for my hot tub. My house is 20 years old and the floods of the past few years have been the worst of my 56 years on this planet which scared me right away so more might hate floods now but I'm curious if we get another big flood like this pump 3 hours in a row will work like my others, it's going to be a real challenge. Mother Nature can be evil, but hopefully Wayne will help level the playing field in the next fight. I will update again if I have anything to add. I will be ordering another one soon for my second pit to get confidence in the pump, ty gl
