. This works on older backward compatible CECHA01 models like mine. If in doubt, check the laser and connections. It's one of the cheapest devices on the market and looks brand new rather than a dubious used part. It's quieter than the original, which is a bit of a bonus (or maybe mine was loud because it was dying). Receiving and retrieving is a bit slow, but I don't see that as a problem, it's just different. Several people have complained that this is not a guarantee and Revain will come back to see whether or not you have attempted to use the item. Just read it! Installation can be tricky, but I think most of it is Sony's fault. Pay attention to each when talking about them separately and setting them up won't be too bad. Definitely worth it.
