Review on Efficient Syba SD-ADA40001 Compact Flash to SATA II Adapter Card with PCI Mounting Bracket - Black by Nate Jenkins

So far I like this device. Installed it on a very old laptop with a bad hard drive. I didn't have to bend or break any of the pins like others seem to have done, I simply replaced the failed hard drive with these and then installed Win Me on it. However, be aware that most likely any CF card you use will need to be partitioned first or attempting to install Win will throw an error. Once it's partitioned, Win will ask you to format it and you're done. I can't yet say how this setup will work in the long run, but for now everything is fine. An added benefit of using a CF as a hard drive is that an older laptop will be almost as fast as a laptop with an SSD. If anything changes, I'll report back. I used a Sandisk Ultra 4GB card as someone suggested in their review.
