Rice mold and pouch set

I love this nigiri making kit. The molds are easy to use and the small triangle on the bottom makes it very easy to pop out the rice balls. I made plain rice balls because my goddaughter is very picky about her food and doesn't eat a lot of different flavors. I try to gradually introduce the rice seasoning in small increments. The number of bags and stickers is very important, and they can last a while if I'm only making a few rice balls once a week. The stickers have a strong adhesive and hold the finished rice ball and packaging together very securely. The pull tab makes it easier for the child to open and I find that the plastic wrap is also more hygienic if the child holds it during lunch at school. Just a note about rice. The type of rice is important for the rice balls to hold together. Get the right kind of sushi rice for your taste. I usually soak the rice for 30 minutes, then add a teaspoon of vinegar and about a teaspoon of oil before mixing and cooking. When making this on the stovetop in a regular saucepan, I usually use a water to rice ratio of around 3:2 because I'm cooking it without a lid (it's easier to stir occasionally) and a lot of the water evaporates. After it was cooked, I took it off the hot stove and let it sit for a while with the lid on. If you use a rice cooker, you can save yourself a lot of cooking hassle and just use the preset settings. In any case, I am very satisfied with this Nigiri set. I think a 9-year-old girl is planning to impress her class with rice balls and sweet carrot slices this week instead of her usual sandwich. Mission accomplished: get them to eat more variety.
