The 1st was defective, good replacement
The thread on two hinges makes no sense, it just slips and is removed without snagging. Because they don't latch/lock securely, the lamp isn't stable and will flex a lot. Replacement requested, let's see how it goes. UPDATE: Thought I'd give it another try since it was so cheap and ordered a replacement. The replacement works perfectly, all the poles are actually bolted together and mostly stand straight (I really don't expect a flimsy 5ft pole to stand perfectly straight). I tried a smart lightbulb in it and it worked. simply good.
