My music studio has a lot of memory connected to my main DAW computer. After filling all six SATA connectors on the motherboard, I need to add external enclosures with multiple drives. Most enclosures that work with USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gb/s) expect you to put 3.5" drives in their caddies. While it is sometimes possible to securely mount a 2.5" SSD on a cart, in most cases this is not the case. Sure, there are inexpensive adapters that might work in some cases, but I've had a few cases where they don't work because the 2.5" drive mounting screws are on the wrong surface of the drive and it's impossible is to align with the ports, data and power in the chassis. Then I came across these StarTech case adapters. What they do is enclose your 2.5" drive in an enclosure that looks exactly like a 3.5" drive. If you didn't know what you were looking at, you would even think it was a regular hard drive. When you insert a drive into the chassis cage, it fits just like a 3.5" drive. Also, inserting a 2.5" drive into the adapter couldn't be easier. It requires no tools and takes about 15 seconds to securely install the drive inside. This is a very innovative design. These things were sent for me by God and I cannot recommend them highly enough.
