The cooler is at least 50% thicker than the original. It cools my Jeep much better than the stock cooler. I didn't reuse the side plastic pieces that direct air to the heatsink, it's the top plastic protective piece when installed. The sides were old and brittle and the top was stiff so I gave up. The top posts of the 1/4" fan studs are too long, allowing the fan to have little clearance to the heatsink. I don't think it hurts performance. Jeep no longer overheats. My old radiator may be clogged. Anyway, this solved my problem. Overheating seems to be an issue on many early 3.6 Jeep JKs.
