The blades are easy to remove and there is a brush to clean the blades. There was no instruction manual with my purchase, but I was able to figure out how to change the blades very easily. I mainly used the blade of a paring knife and it gets thick when you try to peel carrots, potatoes etc. However, I liked how it peels mangoes. Not all cleaning blades work very well. Two of the three blades worked really well when I used them on some veggies; but one of the blades didn't work well. I found this peeler to do a great job with a quick hand grater compared to a standard peeler. The blades are sharp.
