Before that, I looked at two other monitors. The SAMSUNG SJ55W 34 Inch Ultra Wide Flat Panel Gaming Monitor had the worst overall picture quality I have ever seen. It has this because it can support a 100Hz refresh rate with HDR and TB3 compatibility. But my XPS 15 9575 Thunderbolt 3 didn't exceed 60Hz at the recommended resolution. So I got Display Port 1.4 version for USB Type C cable. I can now do a full 100Hz with this; clear difference in image quality. Of course, you can still easily use the Thunderbolt 3 docking capability if the monitor uses the bottom USB port to charge the laptop and continues to use it as a hub. Along with another USB-C type for display, the connector is connected. Just turn off the monitor on the input type c. The only problem in my opinion is that the Samsung S65UA doesn't lack enough vertical resolution to be considered 4k. It would be nice to have, but to go that route you'll need to spend almost twice as much on the next level of 4k ultra-wide monitors.
