Does the job but has some issues

I wanted an alarm clock/speaker/dock combo for my Samsung Galaxy SII in the bedroom, it was the best option available that fit on my bedside table. My comments agree with everyone else. Cons: The Fidelio app keeps trying to connect - and I know how to kill apps - it restarts automatically. I removed it, everything works fine. The microUSB connector doesn't quite fit, you have to move it to get a connection, it works better without the case (thin rubber), but not like with the charging cable. (Note that my phone has a known issue with non-Samsung chargers; I removed that issue from the equation). I've tried the alarm but am having trouble getting it set up and working - honestly I prefer the Alarm Extreme app on my phone so just use it. Sound setting - You need to turn on the phone in addition to the speaker to get the full sound. I've just read some of the other reviews configurable over the phone so I'll have to double check. Good points Bluetooth connectivity for music and speakers. Just the right amount of power for a bedroom speaker that I can hear perfectly in the bathroom. Good size, attractive design. To be honest I've thought about returning it and just buying a bluetooth speaker since it turns out I use my phone for time and alarm clocks. , as well as applications for radio and pandora, given the problems with the usb connection, they are suitable. But I love the look and compact size and bought it at the end of Thanksgiving for $20 off the regular price. I have until January 31st to discuss this, so I'll tinker with it a little more over the holidays when I have more time. This was done with my phone but I thought it was the device I received and not the product so I traded it in. In the meantime Samsung has provided an update for a known battery/connector issue so we know this is not a factor now. The new block is easy to connect; I have to press the right side of the phone once, but that's it. I think part of the problem is that this phone is so thin that it doesn't get any support from the plastic wall on the back that's meant for that purpose. I have another standalone dock (Sinjimoru dock recommended) that uses working tilt support. I can see what happens when I put something in to support the phone. I've looked at other solutions with a standalone dock and speakers, but AC powered speakers aren't small enough to be used as a bedside table. So again since I got a great price I will live with the features of this product but I recommend you buy used or wait for discounts until they fix the application even 79 is too expensive.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Easy maintainability
