Review on LEADTOPS Flexible Headlight Waterproof Decorative by Samuel Naidu

Amazing LEDs, bad cables, bad controller, bad sealing (and lack thereof)

Overall good, but there are major flaws. Advantages: - VERY bright shine even in daylight. A little painful when looking directly - Good color temperature, not too blue - Consistent I like - Slim and easy to install. I disassembled my case, but it is not needed, you can glue it from the top / bottom. I just wanted a more personal look. Cons: -Return from yellow to white LEDs is VERY SLOW! Takes about 2 seconds, most other kits take 1 second and OEM is almost instant. Super annoying. I took my block apart to fix it but the microcontroller inside is unmarked and I just cut it out to replace with my own fixed serial direction. It goes from the controller to the end of the strip and there's no way to change it. The sequence does not indicate the direction the vehicle is turning and confusing - The LED strips are DIRECTIONAL. VERY IMPORTANT. One side of the tube has a thicker silicone end that does an excellent job of diffusing the light. Because of this, they're easy to install incorrectly and look like crap backwards. Pipes can easily be made thick on both sides. The tube is pre-sealed. This means that even if you can cut the strip, you don't have new plugs to close it again. Also, the sealant they use is white and opaque, and it's pretty badly sealed anyway. just let me do it myself The LED driver is not fully waterproof. Both of my devices only had silicone on one side of the circuit board so half the components were left to the elements. Neither the wire holes nor the edges of the case were sealed, which I think is why so many of them fail. Seal it yourself to extend the life of the LED, especially if you live in a humid area. The wire is SUPER thin as if blown the wrong way and will likely break. It has about 6-8 threads inside and it's definitely sketchy. Given that the engine bay has it all, there was no reason to skimp on the size of the cables, which is absolutely ridiculous. The adhesive sucks and is difficult to remove to apply yourself. Anyway, again, it could have been avoided by just letting it do it, but no. Ultimately, these LEDs are so good that I think it's worth just buying a different controller and reconfiguring. But of course it's a lot more work and money, so it's not for everyone.
