I bought this dehumidifier to replace an Ivation desiccant dryer which I really liked but after a while it started to rattle loudly. Ivation gave me credit for sending a replacement dehumidifier, but after a while it also started making a helicopter-like rumble. I liked the Ivation's size and performance, but after doing some research I see that this rumble is being caused by the device's internal heat-distorting components, which is not a good thing. I've been using this Afloia dryer since day one and that's why it's so far, so good. It's slightly larger than the Ivation, but also has more storage capacity. The box and desiccant arrived safe and sound and well packaged. The controls here are a bit simpler than the Ivation, but more than adequate. For those wondering, at the top you have the following buttons/options: Power (on/off) - does what it says. When you unplug this device, the fan will run for 4 minutes to cool down the components. I suspect this will prevent thermal damage that Ivation devices seem to suffer from. Mode (High/Medium/Low) - Controls fan speed, but also appears to control heating output and dehumidification. I haven't applied a wattmeter to this guy yet, but I will and will update the review with these numbers. The timer (2 hrs / 4 hrs / 8 hrs) is an off timer that turns off the dehumidifier after XX. Watch. I checked and you can't use it as an on timer. Humidity (Auto / 60% / 50%) - Turns on/off automatically depending on the humidity in the room. 50% and 60% seem correct, but "Auto" is mislabeled and should read "Continuous". A bonus - the humidity sensor is on the back of the device, separate from the airflow. This should make it much more accurate than most dehumidifiers stuck somewhere in the car. Dry cloth (Auto / Off) - To dry clothes with this device. Sets the dehumidifier to HIGH/Fan and directs the airflow upwards. I actually use my dehumidifier for this. I do the laundry, hang everything in the closet and let the laundry dry in the dryer. Much gentler on clothing and consumes less electricity. Swing (Auto / Off) - Makes the deflector move up/down to direct the airflow where you want it, or it can move up and down continuously. The default is "Medium". and I've left it there so far. Warm, dry air exits at the top, water enters the tank, and it's fairly quiet (but not quiet). All I hear is white noise like a low speed fan. My desk fan is actually louder. The case feels pretty solid and it has a nice sturdy handle for moving it around the house. The tank holds 2.5L and the unit is rated for 7L when fully loaded. It also came with a small plastic drain hose for those who like to drain it all the time. Please note that this model does not have a pump, only a gravity drain. There is a splash guard on the tank that doesn't seem to be as durable but time will tell. Even if the clips on the fender break, the water doesn't run all over the place, so it doesn't bother me that much. I miss the Ivation's display and controls, especially the ability to set the humidity in 5% increments. BUT, that should work well enough. It's a dehumidifier, not a TV. Once installed I will never look at the controls again.
