The computer stopped working after 25 days

The laptop was received, the packaging is intact with no damage. I then set up the laptop and used it for a few hours each day for about 15 days. I turned it on for Christmas and all I got was a black screen and a short flash of light. It also couldn't be turned off. So I had to send the laptop back and am waiting for a loan to buy it.
