I've been using Ionic Pro and smaller before that for many years - don't use it all the time or every month - but sometimes - and they can charge bulk ions for you run it 24/7 and not be overwhelmed by that ionic freshness. This device is a completely different game with a completely different approach to using it. What is the difference? 1. The device looks like it was made in the 1950s. It's cool and typical of these devices.2. The device has a very very old rotary timer that reminds me of a very old oven or something.3. The device is designed to be used when the room is CLOSED AND UNOCCUPIED - this is completely different from the Ionic Pro4. The remote uses an unusually large battery that most don't recognize or identify. Very expensive. Bad for the US. Despite everything, this device is INCREDIBLY efficient (almost TOO efficient) compared to my previous experience with the Ionic Pro. Here's how it's different: The goal is that you close the room, EXIT and let it run - 30 minutes to 2 hours - on a timer - then come back and open the air. It's very effective in this mode of operation - leave it running before you leave home - if you don't have people or pets around while it's running. in space, the smell of ions almost becomes the smell of chlorine, like swimming pools disinfected with ozone. The scent can sometimes linger on objects, but a typical medium-lasting scent is a very fresh scent "right after a thunderstorm" and nothing like chlorine or worse. I really love this device. It's not perfect, but it's certainly well-priced and I've found it very reliable so far - it works - and stops - when it should. I'll try to find a battery that goes with it. "I've had these before - weird little AAA batteries, but about half the size. I can see how this "special" cleaner can be very useful for hotels or other places where cleaning and deodorization is needed. Gaps between passengers and 30 minutes of operation in a hotel room would probably be more than enough. UPDATE: After about two dozen uses, the timer button started failing and sometimes it won't turn itself off! Terrible! The stars are reduced. Otherwise, I'm satisfied with the rest of the functionality of the product.
