Works but not for use in tight spaces. Since it takes some force to move the pump up and down, it's best to place it on the floor, but then you'll have to worry about getting the hoses to the correct port on the HVAC unit. In a limited space, it is much easier to use a vacuum cleaner. because you only have one hose and don't have to pump. I have not used the pump outdoors as my connections are indoors. It seems to me that this pump is more efficient when used outdoors. In terms of cleaning, I had no trouble cleaning the device after use. My suggestion to the manufacturer is to replace the hoses with transparent ones so you can see through them. If the hoses were clean it would be great for seeing what's going on and clearing any clogs. Maybe even a block can be seen through.
