After being unable to pinch the AC drain pipe with a shop vacuum, I connected this device to the drain pipe external outlet. I used the suction side of the pump to create a vacuum in the tube to pull the dirt out. Following the advice of other reviewers, I quickly inflated the device for about 10 seconds and waited. Works but not for use in tight spaces. I bought this to clean 18 years of stubborn dirt from my upstairs AC condensate line and I was disappointed with how well it worked. To clean the line, I had to bleach over 10 passes of hot water after closing the outer tube, leaving the solution in the line for an hour or two each time.
