Review on Adorne ASTP1532W4 Three-Way White Wall Switch By Legrand by Bronson Hussain

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A good switch, but also some learning opportunities.

An outstanding wall switch to replace the standard toggle switch.Once the wiring in the switch box is cleaned up to provide the space necessary to install the switch, it is quite easy to install this switch. A couple of notes from my learnings:1) The switch must be seated in the metal wall plate (which must be grounded) in order for the switch to work correctly.2) The indicator light which comes with the switch should be wired between the line hot (black screw) and either 1-pole or 3-pole terminal. The instructions indicate it should be wired between the 1-pole and 3-pole terminals, but Legrand technical support told me that is not correct.3) Evidently, because of indicator light, there is a small amount of current that "bleeds" to the 1-pole and 3-pole terminals. If a Fluke Voltage Tester is held to the terminals when the switch's breaker is on but the switch is off, it will light. This may lead one to believe the switch is defective. However, it is not enough power to energize a light bulb.

Pros
  • Electrical
Cons
  • The switch's opacity prevents users from checking its internal components, making it difficult to troubleshoot any problems that may arise
