The Painter multi-tool can do a lot

What's not to love about a multi-tool when you're up a ladder in the middle of a painting job? This versatile person can do a lot. Despite being billed as a 6-in-1 tool, I believe it can do a lot more. • Dispenser for putty/glue/etc. on blade end • Scraper/chisel on other side of blade end for penetrating and widening cracks, digging out caulking etc. • Paint can opener - ideal for sideways or dry modeling • Concave scraper/nail puller/roller for cleaning on a large concave notch • Corners -/Crack Cleaner on front sharp tip of blade • Hammer on end for hammering in nails or popping paintwork. How about this tool: - Nylon handle feels strong (break resistant), feels good and is solvent resistant - 3 inch carbon steel blade. All steel contains a small amount of carbon, but products marked as carbon steel have a higher percentage. Carbon steel is stronger than stainless steel but can still chip/break). Also, carbon steel doesn't protect well against corrosion like rust (so keep your trowel in a dry place). Not a very good scraper (rather stiff than flexible) - There is a reinforced metal hole at the end for hanging - There is a hole at one end for hanging on a perforated board. It can also be used to tether the tool to your body or to a ladder while working to keep it from falling. Steel: The blade penetrates the handle only 2.5 cm. This means it's less durable / the blade is more likely to detach from the handle than a tang that comes all the way out. The blade is not as sharp as I thought it would be for scraping. All in all, this is a great little tool that has many uses. We will certainly benefit a lot from it over the years.
