Worth it if you have trouble with chronic distributor cap corrosion.
My '03 GMC Sierra changed a new distributor cap every 6-9 months because it was corroded. Last time we decided to investigate the real problem and found that the real distributor was bad. The swap took less than an hour and the difference in driving was immediately noticeable. No more random shutdowns, no more random RPM spikes.
