Divider Metal (I don't know, steel, aluminum or both), the ring is definitely plastic - even says it on the side of the box. Foam is cheap open cell stuff. Easily deformable, therefore often does not fit perfectly in the ring. As long as you get it close, rotating the ring back and forth a bit will usually slide it into place (you may need to pull the baffle down a bit to relieve the pressure on the ring). Just two springs to keep it in place. and they were a bit long for my mounts so I had to use unused screw holes on the top of the mount instead of the normal spring mounting points on the sides. Good quality overall, just wish everything was metal and had three or four springs.
