Review on MICHELIN X-Ice Snow SUV 225/60 R17 103T winter by Adam Koodziejek ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good product for me, no problems at all.

As of today, I have only just purchased it, therefore this review will be updated accordingly. The decision was quite challenging for me because I had used nothing but Nokian studs for the entirety of my riding career, beginning with the very first model. In addition, I do not have any prior expertise working with friction tires. So. Mercedes GLK, most of my travel is within the city of St. Petersburg, and I also do some driving in the surrounding area. I had a choice between this rubber and contiving 7, and I went with this rubber. I was interested in purchasing the Conti model, which is already rather popular. But Michelin came out on top thanks to their innovative business practices and the economy. A warranty, free tire fitting, and a discount on gasoline were added bonuses to the purchase of the tires. As a result of the fact that I also have Michelin summer tires, I have faith in the maker. In addition, the Conti rating for 2022 and the Michelin rating for 2022 were both given. The prior Michelin friction tire had positive reviews as well, and a friend of mine rode a tire with the exact same material. At the time this evaluation (10/11/2022) was being written, just one Swedish test had been published, and the results showed that rubber came in second position and tied for seventh place (along with studded tires). However, given how much the result of conti fluctuates, I cannot put my faith in the tests. There are not even any reviews; just press releases are available. When I did the comparison for myself, I brought up numerous different points: the conti has superior cross-country ability, better braking on bare ice, and better longitudinal grip on ice. These are just a few of the points. However, the Michelin offers superior performance on slick pavement, braking in snow, improved lateral grip, improved resistance to hydroplaning, and improved predictability. Michelin is a little bit more difficult than conti. The tread pattern of the Conti is more effective on ice, while the tread pattern of the Michelin is smoother and, in general, more effective on wet asphalt and wet snow. Enhanced capability of water to drain away from the contact patch. These judgments are entirely based on my own individual experience and perspective. In addition to that, I turned down the offer of conti in the store and instead purchased a new one. Starting with the very first batch. After you've done that, move on to something completely else. It turns out that the prices were comparable for my size, and the only reason their tires were somewhat less expensive was because Michelin has a larger market share. Up to this point, all of the scores have been posted ahead of time. Only 20 kilometers brought me here. Tires that were produced in China at the beginning of the month of June 2022.

Pros
  • Smooth, unobtrusive, and relaxing motion. When contrasted to the sensation of riding on a tire with studs, this one is rather unique. It's a little bit calmer than summer, but not by much. The tire is lighter overall in my size R17 compared to the Continental 7. A perfect equilibrium.
Cons
  • The rubber hasn't been broken in yet. After 60 kilometers per hour, there is a faint howl, and as the speed increases, the howl increases as well. However, the pitch of the howl will rise in proportion to the increase in speed. The pitch of the howl drops as the car begins to slow down. Slow response when turning the steering wheel on dry pavement at a speed of +10. During the process of installing new tires, we had to use an explosive booster to pump up two wheels. Soft side. When contrasted to the studded Nokian, there is discernible hydroplaning.
