Ideal for sharpening lawn mower blades

This flap wheel set from Shall is ideal for heavy duty grinding. I mainly use flap wheels to sharpen lawn mower blades. I live in central Arkansas, I have a large piece of land, and it seems that a lot of rocks regularly grow, knocking live Hs from the blades. I currently have three lawn mowers and sharpen the blades after about every three or four uses. The heaviest blades are on my zero turn mower. These get hit the most. I sharpen them with a 4.5 inch cordless sander with a 60-120 grit. I start with 60 to remove a lot of metal. Then I switch to 120 to finish the job. The blades should not be too sharp, otherwise they will only wear out prematurely due to excessive damage to the blades when hitting rocks or other obstacles. For a set of two blades it would probably take me about 10 minutes to finish the job local JD store charges $7 for a sharpening kit for these blades. These Shall wheels are comparable to name brand wheels that I can buy at any of my local major department stores for a lot more. After sharpening this set of knives, I could barely tell the wheels were in use. They still have a lot of life in them. For hard work, I highly recommend these wheels.
