Review on πŸ”¦ Nite Ize TGLR-33-R3 TagLit Rechargeable Magnetic LED Marker Safety Light: Enhanced Visibility in Yellow by Julian Perkins

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Wow, the yellow is incredibly bright

One star deducted because of: 1) my fault. I thought I ordered a taglit with a rechargeable battery, but oops, I ordered a taglit with a removable battery (uses a 2032 coin cell battery) and 2) the removable battery version doesn't last as long as the rechargeable battery version. Still, the yellow is incredibly bright, blinding (and glowing green, not yellow - see photo). I save it for those times we get stuck in the dark on our bikes so I can clip it to the back of my hydration pack/backpack. If the drivers with the yellow taglit don't see me, then they're on another planet. I also have a yellow battery taglit. It's not as bright as the removable battery version, but it's still brighter than the red version. Additionally, the removable battery version has four separate displays compared to the single solid display in the rechargeable version. The skin is thicker on the rechargeable version. Maybe that's why it doesn't emit as much light as the removable battery version. The red rechargeable Taglite makes you visible in the dark without blinding you. I wanted an extra taglit when another light is on on the charger. I actually use this lantern to attach to my cat's harness because the little darling is afraid of other people and I have to walk him out until dawn when normal people don't go. But it makes it visible to cars and also allows me to see where it is in relation to my feet so I don't trip over it. I tried the yellow one this morning and it was so bright he thought he was going to get hit by a car and got scared. I tried to attach it to the back of his harness - one happy, contented kitten, but I was blind, my mum was blind! So I pinned it to a spot behind me. The benefit of these little Taglites is definitely that the magnet is quite strong and despite the fact that my cat's harness/hiking jacket is thick, the Taglite holds up well and never falls off, even rolling over it on the pavement of the taglite. So by pinning it to the sleeve of your running shirt, you can be sure it's still there when you trudge back through the door. Please pay more attention than me to removable battery and rechargeable battery. I thought they charge more for a different color. I either have to stop buying stuff from Revain on my phone and boot up my computer, or I have to put on my strongest reading glasses. I've added two photos to show the difference between the brightness of the red and yellow taglites. Note that the yellow (green) light actually illuminates the ground plane more than the red light. I hope this helps you make the right choice for your needs. The flash option lasts one to two seconds per flash and will definitely draw more attention from drivers than just using the constant option. Bottom line, I'll use the same rating for the rechargeable Taglit I bought, but it'll get 5 stars instead of 4, mainly because it's much more durable than the removable battery version. The replaceable battery version is said to get 70 hours per battery, while the rechargeable version gets 7 hours per charge. I can verify the latter, but it would be difficult to determine the validity of a removable drive's battery life.
