Review on ๐Ÿ›๏ธ 4-Inch Queen Size Sleep Innovations Dual Layer Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper with Enhanced Support by Brendan Thorpe

Hate memory foam but need pressure point relief and don't want to replace your mattress?

So far this has worked great. Slept like a baby despite my terrible back problems. Let's see how it holds up over time. I have suffered from back pain for 30 years. Lately it has gotten so bad (after losing my 13 year old dog I guess I physically buried my pain) that I was in so much pain that I couldn't sleep in any position. My upper back pain radiated to my shoulders and rotator cuffs to the point where the only position I could sleep in was my back, and even then I would wake up with a spasm in my back. I have a very expensive Sealy latex mattress that has served me well for a long time, but this latest incident has made it impossible for me to sleep. Suddenly my mattress felt too hard for me. I woke up with cold and numb hands. After a long search on the internet I decided on this 2-layer topper. I immediately felt that the fiber-filled top pad was too warm and generally unusable, so I took it off. This limited the gel's ability to compress beneath me too much. Mind you, I despise the feel of memory foam and how it consumes you. This gel relieves pressure points, but unlike memory foam, it quickly returns to its original shape with movement. With just one layer of gel it makes my shoulders, hips, knees etc extremely light and I slept well on it. I just hope it doesn't wear out too quickly. Time will tell and I'll be sure to update it positively or negatively. By the way, after a few weeks of use, I thought maybe I'd just buy a new latex mattress, tailored to my personal size and sleeping habits. I got a new latex mattress last night and even with the adjustment it's too hard. I put this gel top back on my original latex mattress and hope to sleep like a baby again. I would give it 5 stars but I feel the added cost of a fiber filled topper was not good. Yes, you still need a mattress topper to hold the gel layer, but you don't need the cheap topper that comes with this kit.
