This tip is curved. I've never seen a stud like this and he's awesome! Also, I feel that this aluminum is dense (better quality). I use this for hi-hat coupling. The tip leaves no marks on the rod. The two standard thumbscrews in the photo are Gibraltar and Yamaha.
