My husband and I have never installed barn doors. I saw instructions online on how to do it yourself. It didn't seem like a good idea, we opted for a pre-measured set. We actually built the bar to fit the bar door brackets. It initially took a few tries to assemble, but that was our fault. Read the instructions, this should be the first direction. We had to remove the small washers on the latches because the doors kept hitting the latches as the door slides over them. It stopped after we removed the pucks. This is a beautiful bar console. Couldn't be happier as it turned out.
