Review on LensCoat Camouflage Neoprene Protection LCS150500FG by Lance Levatte

Expensive, expensive!

First of all I want to be fair and say this seems like a good set BUT you can get 5 pack for almost $90. Camo patterned neoprene fabric sewn into "stripes" the widest of which is approximately 4 inches wide. Overall you get approximately 10" x 9" 1.5mm thick RealTree Max 4 HD patterned neoprene fabric cut into 5 strips and sewn into hoops with a pair of clear PVC plastic "windows" covering the lens controls. Just to put this in perspective, I was looking for a camo neoprene fabric that I've been selling for $10 for 12 inches by 60 inches (1 foot by 5 feet) in a few places on the internet. While this item isn't a bad piece of kit (it's camouflaged and offers some protection from small dents and scratches, although I'm not sure how well my $1,100 lens will perform in an accidental drop), if you consider, you can buy enough materials to craft at least 5 sets for a tenth the cost. To recap, it's disguised as a RealTree Max 4 HD pattern and has a neoprene lining, so it does what it's advertised as capable. make. But the price is too high in my opinion. Verdict? I will keep it as it is not worth returning but if I had known when I ordered what I know now I would not have bought it in the first place. I wouldn't recommend this to the savvy buyer, but I would recommend it to the enthusiast who has more money than sense.

Pros
  • Camouflage pattern helps with concealment by disrupting the shape of the lens
Cons
  • Out of style
