I ordered this smart charger to upgrade my older "Pilot Lamp Charger"; This outdated charger only has one LED to show when the device is on and I never know when my batteries are fully charged. The Smart Charger Kit includes the charging box, the power adapter and the user manual. The intelligent charger can charge a 9 volt battery and up to 8 AA or AAA batteries at the same time; The intelligent charger's graphic display shows the charging progress of each battery (0, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) or displays ERROR if a failed battery cannot be charged. The charger includes overload and overcharge protection for the charger and rechargeable batteries. I tested this charger by simultaneously charging a previously charged 9 volt battery and eight never before charged new AAA batteries. The 9 volt battery is 75% charged and charges quickly. Eight AAA batteries were initially empty; Five AAA batteries are fully charged in 3 hours, two more batteries are fully charged in 5 hours, and the last AAA battery took a full 8 hours to charge. My old charger wouldn't have shown this option, but the smart charger's graphical display clearly showed charging progress and completion.
