This charger has the 2.1A current required for today's phones. It's good to have 2 connectors for driver and passenger to use. Older cars don't have built-in USB ports. In my case, my car has USB ports, but they are 1.0 amp. It just isn't enough to keep up with performance-hungry applications. Try listening to music, using Waze, and reading the news (passengers only, please). The phone battery level drops even when connected to a 1.0 amp charger. This block solves the problem.
