Based on the reviews I expected this to be the best pencil sharpener, especially for an artist! But when I just use plain pencils I found that they are not easy to use because for some reason it takes some effort to insert the pencil and start the sharpener. This is actually quite difficult and I found I had to use two hands to secure the sharpener and apply enough pressure to the pencil. Pretty inconvenient when you're drawing something and trying to sharpen it on the go. Not the best tool for artists who want their pens to be sharp all the time. In addition, I was surprised how fuzzy my pens were even at the highest settings. Sure, it was sharp by normal standards, but the reviews and descriptions of this product gave the impression that this would make it extra sharp, and I find it to be at best at its hottest, but rarely at its hottest. I would buy a cheap pencil sharpener if I wanted a basic one.
