This set contains 5 breast milk exhalation tests and 2 breast milk vitamin C tests. The kit contains everything you need to perform these tests, including 7 test strips sealed in foil pouches, 7 small tubes, 7 pipettes, 4 test strip cards (2 for expiration date and 2 for vitamin C) and a booklet with detailed instructions. To analyze the test results, download the MilkStrip app. The instructions have a QR code that takes you straight to the download link. The app plays a helpful video showing you how to complete the test. The app requires you to enter a phone number, and while it asks for other information (name, birthday, information about the child, etc.), I didn't provide any of that. and I was still able to use the app to analyze my milk. It was easy for me to follow the instructions and run the drain test. I did a test with a fresh milk sample first to see how it works. I got the result that the milk was good as I expected. I also had some milk that hadn't been kept in the fridge longer than usual (although it was still within the recommended range), so I was curious to check if it was still good. Then I tested it and it turned out to be usable as well. Then I tried a vitamin C test. The testing process is the same, except you don't have to wait as long to score the test (2 minutes vs. 3 minutes). Everything was going fine until I tried to analyze the test with the app. I got an error message and tried different ways to get it working (relaunch the app, take a photo in a different light, etc.) but it still didn't work for me. I later checked the app again and according to the test result, it showed a vitamin C test result, but when I clicked on it, I got the error message again. It looks like my sample was analyzed, but some issues with the application were preventing the results from being displayed correctly. All in all it was an interesting test and I'd love to learn more about how it works or maybe find a way to benchmark it to make sure everything is working as it should. I would be interested in testing a sample of milk that I knew was bad and seeing if it registers that way on the app. As a medical professional, I would like to better understand what properties of milk the test evaluates. My other suggestion is that they add a timer to the app. The test requires you to wait exactly 3 minutes (or 2 for vitamin C) before taking a picture to analyze your test. I used a different timer on my phone for this, but it would be nice if it was built into the app so I don't have to switch between apps when trying to quickly analyze a test.
