Review on Schumacher DSR118 Handheld Battery Charger by Stephen Johnson

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Tried 3 chargers DSR118

DSR118- First unit I got when I connected the clamps to the battery it sparked and when I turned on the unit it said to connect the clamps if they were connected. The battery was fine, I put it in to save the battery for the winter. I buy chargers 2 and 3 individually hoping to get a good one, but both don't completely turn off the display, it gets dark and flickers. I called the shop they said they couldn't do anything on the phone and couldn't return it. Also one of the flickers when charging is complete said 16.3 volts and when I connected another charger it said it was 13.8 volts. I really wanted this model for additional trigger amps so I'm keeping one that flickers and also reads the correct volts.

Pros
  • 50 amp engine start for emergency start
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
