Not all of us can have a regular vise and a wooden vise on our desk. Growing up in Springfield, my father only had one vise on his workbench, and I remember his annoyance when the vise sometimes left a visible imprint on the wood he was working with at the time. with by-pass. Finally, he held appropriate pieces of wood under the bench so that if we clamped the pieces of wood in a vise, we could have pieces of wood on either side of this "sensitive" tree, allowing the pieces of wood to spread the pressure over the entire area. a larger area of good wood and thus does not leave dents or other visible defects in good wood. This product is excellent for use with products that would otherwise be damaged in a traditional vise. I highly recommend it. I gifted this to my neighbor for his vise in his work area. One day I'll take a picture of him at work with this grip and update the review.
