I have a 2013 Cadillac XTS which I bought in early 2017 as a certified used vehicle. A few weeks later, the original screen fell out, showing the familiar web. The car was under warranty and the local Cadillac dealer replaced it for free. That was around May 2017, so before the 2018 design fix. I knew the screen would fail again one day, and it did in June 2020. So both the original screen and the warranty-replaced screen lasted about three years. The car is no longer under warranty so I figured I'd fix it myself this time. I considered several options including the more expensive CueScreens. I decided to give him a chance. I'm not disappointed. I will post some before and after photos and compare the failed part to this one. As you can see, the proximity sensors work great. I think the highlights are almost the same as the factory one. I haven't personally seen any of the CueScreens products, but fear of glare is the only thing that made me choose this product. Perhaps the CueScreens have less glare than the factory unit and that would be a welcome upgrade; but this product is not a blinding monster as some would like you to believe. I used the CueScreens YouTube videos for disassembly instructions. You are pretty good. One tip I would like is to remove and replace the shifter frame and cup holders. CueScreens suggests just pulling it up and back once you've removed the two back screws. You can do it this way, but it takes a lot of strength and it's almost impossible to get it back this way. Instead, lift the rubber pad on the bottom of the cup holders. There's a screw. take it away Then proceed exactly as shown in the CueScreens videos. If you reinstall this part, it's 100 times easier. Just put it back in and put the screw back in. This will save you a few minutes and prevent you from breaking anything. Eventually I bought a trim stripping tool kit that contained about 8 tools. Total waste. I used one tool from the whole set. You need a good trim removal tool, but not 8 pieces. Otherwise, all you need is a 7mm hex socket (I used a socket set with an extension), a Phillips #1 screwdriver, and a Phillips #2 screwdriver. Good luck!
