I am struggling with brown diatoms in my aquarium. It was so bad that after cleaning and a 50% water change it grew back within an hour! Water change 50% every other day. While my fish were doing fine (and really growing and thriving with all the frequent big water changes), I was disappointed to see brown diatoms making a comeback and making my tank so unsightly. 1 bag of Fosgard, washed, put in a filter and boom - within a week the number of diatoms was significantly reduced. I was even able to reduce my water changes to 80% once a week. Crossed fingers!
