I wish I had had one a few years ago (if it even existed then)! Was easy to install and comes with a filter to keep the water clean. The LED light is variable, which means you can change its brightness. I leave it on the lowest setting but who knows if a betta likes bright lights or nothing at all. It cost me about $15 to get everything I needed to set up the fish: a small bag of colorful aquarium rocks, a net, goldfish food, a small artificial plant and 1 blue betta named Chuck Norris hahaha :) He is after that a fighting fish all! I've read that Beta is a fairly hardy fish and lives up to 2 years. Just don't put them together if you don't want them to fuck, separate them. Sort of like humans ;) Seriously, if you don't want a lot of aquariums and want minimal investment and maintenance, then here's your ticket. I put Chuck on the other side of my kitchen table (where no one is sitting) so I can watch him before breakfast or after a long day at work. Very stress relieving and calming, believe it or not. Oh, and for a betta, he seems pretty friendly. Every time he sees me or his wife, he goes to the glass and interacts (or at least the way a fish can). On the other hand, he might be planning to get out of the tank to kill us all :0) LOL Just don't overfeed them with fish!
