I have been putting up with the substandard mount that came with my Escort Passport 9500ix, for way too long. This unit holds my detector in the perfect place to get that just right sweet spot (2017 Honda Accord). It actually mounts higher on the dash for better coverage. The old mount had to be right up next to the windshield. This meant the cord was not long enough and would also cause unplanned dismounts of the detector. What a bargain at $12.95! This has 3 functional suction cups - they actually work.The original Passport mount never did work right - there was no apparent suction. It would not stay put and sudden stops or starts would send the device flying. The detector stays in place! I would recommend that you remove from windshield in 90-110 degrees + weather to increase lifespan.
