Really life saving

Camelbak antidote chambers have always been quite expensive which I've never been able to buy before although I've always wanted one. I bought an unbranded bladder here and after only 2 uses the tube started leaking and I couldn't use it anymore. Finally threw the dust and got camelbak. First thing I liked was that it was translucent so you could see how much water you had left when you checked your eyeball. My previous one was completely opaque. This way you can also check for signs of mold or fungus growing in the blister. The tube is high quality and long enough to fit the hydration bladder in the bottom of my 32L backpack. I use a Deuter backpack with a hydration tube and it works just as well. I love that it has an on/off feature which my bladder didn't have before. It also had a dust cap, which I felt was necessary as my backpack sometimes ended up on the ground, which was the main reason I got the MIL spec instead of the civilian model. If I wanted to be picky, I would say that the only problem I encountered was the wide mouth, which made it quite difficult to fill at times, especially when it came from a faucet or water point. Otherwise the bag is perfect and I just hope it lasts a very long time.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Good but not great
